Return Policy

This Return Policy applies to all purchases made through mothercitychai.com and operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

At Mother City Chai, we take pride in producing handcrafted, food-grade tea blends in small batches. Due to the nature of our products, returns are limited for health and safety reasons.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to:

• A replacement or refund for a major failure, and

• Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Change of Mind & Food Safety

Due to health and hygiene regulations, we do not accept returns for change of mind, nor can we accept returns of opened or used food and beverage products.

This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return (outside of ACL guarantees), items must:

• Be unused and unopened

• Be in original sealed packaging

• Have a return request submitted within 7 days of delivery

Approval is required before any item is returned.

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include:

• Your order number

• A brief description of the issue

• Clear photos of the product and packaging

If approved, we will offer:

• A replacement, or

• A refund, in line with ACL requirements

Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days after assessment.

Please note:

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless required under Australian Consumer Law

• Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider

Sale & Promotional Items

Items purchased on sale or using promotional codes are final sale, except where the item is faulty or does not meet Australian Consumer Law guarantees.

Subscription Orders

Subscription orders are non-refundable once processed. You may pause, skip, or cancel future deliveries through your account dashboard prior to the next billing cycle.

International Orders

International orders are subject to the same product safety standards. Customs duties, taxes, and return shipping costs are non-refundable and the responsibility of the customer.
